Hi there! Welcome to my little series called Encouraging Bible Verses.
When I was a teen, one of my besties, Rebecca, and I were inspired to start encouraging others with Bible verses. We had a great time getting together and choosing our favorites to share. We’d write each verse on about 50 cards, then mix them up and hand them out at school once a week to everyone in our youth group, plus some who weren’t. We did this for an entire school year.
I may have been one of the people writing out those verses for others, but I’m sure it impacted me more than my youth group. (Though there were stories of how those verses changed lives.) God’s word has this amazing way of growing me…but sharing God’s word is even more powerful. It has helped write God’s word on my heart, and made me want to hold on to it even tighter.
That simple act of passing around Bible verses stuck with me. I knew when I created this blog that I wanted to make my own “cards” to encourage you all. That’s the inspiration behind this series.
Well, guess what? Today my friend Rebecca is joining me, and I’m so excited to collaborate with her again! She wanted to share verses particularly for struggling mamas. We each dove right in, as believing moms who have been there before.
Because maybe you’re exhausted. Maybe your patience is wearing thin. Maybe you’re discouraged and losing hope.
I think most of us moms have been there…probably often in our lives as parents. If you are feeling down, worried, frustrated, or drained, we’re praying for you to be lifted up today as you trust in God.
Verses for the Struggling Mom
He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.
It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.”
A generous person will prosper;
whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
I hope you’re encouraged and inspired today as you take your burdens to God in exchange for some rest for your soul. He hears you, loves you, and has peace for you too.
