It’s Friday, it’s February, it’s Groundhog Day, and I’m just all kinds of excited! After a cold, cloudy January, I’m eager for a short and sweet February. This is the month we’ll make a decision on our son’s kindergarten. It’s also the month my wonderful in-laws are visiting, the winter Olympics arrive, and I (especially) get to share all things pink and romantic. HOORAY.

ONE

A Love-ly New Verse of the Month

Every month, I have a new verse to memorize, and I’m already so excited about this one. It’s one of my favorite verses.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)

My memorization method is to grab my verse card (take a look in my shop!), glue it to a piece of planner paper, write the first letter of every word on the back, and pop it in my planner. I use a Happy Planner and I love that I can remove and add pages! I just move the verse in my planner every week so it stays with me. I spend time looking at the front, which has the verse in full (and is pretty so I stay motivated), and then I flip it over and recite the verse just looking at the first letters as my cue. Eventually, I look away completely and recite the verse.

I love that I have physical copies of these verses in an index card size so that I can take them with me everywhere I go. Writing on the back has helped me a ton, too. I was able to extend the sale on my cards just a bit, but they will go up in price soon. Right now I’m sure your spare change would cover the cost. So go grab ’em! 🙂

TWO

Pink (at home) Manis

I painted my nails in this pretty pink called Back to the Fuchsia and it felt really bold and bright and not my normal for this time of year. …Okay, so lately my normal is nothing. But if I were painting my nails regularly, they would be dark. Anyway, I ended up loving this color, and the men in my life (Ry and my four-year-old son) have been giving me all kinds of compliments. So this is a win for February in my book.

BTW, I use Sally Hansen complete salon manicure because I think it’s the BEST. Two coats lasts longer than every other brand I’ve tried, it has a slightly wider brush that makes it easier for me to apply, and the quality and drying time are both excellent. You’ve gotta try at least one bottle!

THREE

Salted Caramel Pretzels

I feel a bit bad for sharing this for two reasons.

  1. I don’t have a great link for it (sorry, it’s not on Amazon/Target!)
  2. The Superbowl is in two days.

Soooo, it may be too little, too late, but if you love entertaining and sharing awesome gourmet snacks, this is hands down something to have in your cabinet at all times. It’s super easy, and it makes average pretzels turn into crack.

Davis and Davis Salted Caramel Pretzels Pretzel Mix

It’s Wacky Twists Salted Caramel Pretzel Seasoning by Davis and Davis. I sampled some at a local gift shop, and bought the dry mix right away. You just add a little oil to the mix and shake it up with your pretzels. I asked Amazon to tell me when they get it back in stock, so if I hear from them I’ll let you know. Until then, you can grab it from Davis and Davis.

FOUR

Experimenting with Twitter

First of all, I know a lot of people have forgotten about Twitter…but not all of us! I decided to try it out, and something great happened: I found a lot of wonderful people and bloggers that I’d never heard of before. I think Twitter is great for following and discovering bloggers, famous people, companies you love, and friends too, even if you aren’t actively tweeting very often. And when you do tweet, it’s low-key and quick, which is more than I can say for other social media. Know what I mean?

One of my favorite Tonight Show segments is hashtags, so now I’ll be able to participate! If you’re on Twitter, follow me and I’ll follow back (I mean, unless you are offensive, which you aren’t.)

Join me on Twitter here!

Oh, and if you want some easy tweets, I might also add boxes with quotes like this to my posts. What do you think? Annoying, helpful, no opinion???

FIVE

My Favorite Pin of the Week

I made this potato soup (with my Instant Pot!) Wednesday night and it was INCREDIBLE. This is seriously so good! If you haven’t cooked potatoes in your IP, you’ve gotta give it a try.

Stick around on Amy’s famous blog, Living Locurto, for amazing DIY, lifestyle, crafting, recipes, and party ideas. She’s incredibly creative and stylish, and I can’t stop pinning her posts!

I’m on Pinterest here, if you want to see what else I’m pinning lately. I’d love to see what you’re pinning too!

Tell me what you’re loving this week. And have a happy Friday!

  1. Laura,
I am cold here in TN and I suppose you are too in IA. Tired tonight so will get back with you soon.
    Hugs,

  2. I joined twitter a few weeks ago, but I haven’t really got the hang of it yet. So far I’ve accidentally followed someone I thought was a celebrity, but it was a person pretending to be one. And then I couldn’t get my picture to upload, so my sister had to help me set it up. But I’m sure I’ll have more fun with it when I get the hang of it!

I'd love to know what you think. Thanks for commenting!
